ctcLink Update: The transition to ctcLink has begun

We are beginning the transition to ctcLink. Many college offices will be closed from Monday, May 9, until Monday, May 23 to focus on this change. Please be aware that you will not have access to your student records until May 23. We know this is inconvenient, but it is necessary so we can make the change to ctcLink successfully.

You still have access to your coursework in Canvas. You also have access to email and Office365, library systems, and remote access to computer labs.

Please Start Learning about ctcLink Now

We encourage you to start learning more about how to use ctcLink by visiting the ctcLink Resources for Students webpage. For information about important dates, refer to the Key Dates for Students section of the ctcLink for Students webpage. To learn how to use important features — such as activating your account, viewing financial aid and making payments, searching and enrolling in classes, and viewing your grades — check out our Student Tutorials page.

You Will Have Help

On Thursday, May 19, you will begin to use ctcLink. You’ll receive more information in the coming days to help you prepare for this change. Get assistance using our online self-service tutorials, available now. Our Technology Services staff also will be on standby to assist with technical issues starting May 19 and ASYVC will offer student-to-student support sessions May 19 and May 23 – 26. Watch your email for details.

You Will Receive a New Student ID Number

To activate your new ctcLink account on May 19, you will enter your existing SID to receive your new ctcLink identification number (called an EMPLID in the system). Be sure to write down your new ID number when you get it and keep it in a safe place. With this you will have one ID number to access your information across Yakima Valley College as well as across the Washington community and technical college system. Your ID and records will follow you within the community and technical college system.

Look for an important email on May 12 with more details. Until then, take two minutes to watch a short video on how to activate your account. Watch it a few times to have a good starting level of preparation.

Registration Begins May 31 Using ctcLink

On Tuesday, May 31, registration for Summer Quarter will begin and on Wednesday, June 1, registration for Fall Quarter will begin for returning students using the new ctcLink system. We will be there to offer help and support as you get comfortable using ctcLink to register.

Starting on Monday, May 23, you’ll be able to preview Summer and Fall quarter class schedules for your planning purposes. Look for an email on May 23 with a link to preview these class schedules.

If you have questions, take advantage of our tutorial: Searching and Enrolling in Classes.

Please be patient as we work together to learn this new system. ctcLink’s new tools and features will help us better serve you.
