eTutoring Services
eChat allows you to meet with a tutor in one-on-one tutoring sessions via a fully interactive, virtual online environment. Live sessions are offered for various subjects. Schedule an appointment

All YVC students have access to eTutoring’s free online tutoring services in the following areas:

Online Writing Lab & Live Writing Lab allows you to submit a draft of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive a tutor’s response. The Live Writing Lab is a separate service from the YVC Writing Center.
eQuestions allow you to leave a specific question for an eTutor, who will respond within 48 hours (but usually sooner). eQuestions may be submitted for any of the subject areas covered.
Need a Tutor?
All Yakima Valley College students qualify for free tutoring services for Accounting, American Sign Language, Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Spanish, and other courses as indicated by need on a quarter-by-quarter basis.
The Tutoring Centers are located in Raymond Hall, Building 7, Room 202 and Grandview Main, Building 56, Room 102. Tutoring is available by appointment. DSS and SSS program participants may qualify for individualized tutoring and should complete a Tutor Request form.
You can also visit the Math Center and the Writing Center for assistance with these topics.
Live online tutoring available
Live help available online throughout the day, evenings, and weekends. Please visit eTutoring to get started. Individual tutoring appointments will also be on Fridays and weekends depending on the tutor/tutee’s schedule.
Yakima Tutoring Lab
Room 210 within the Tutoring center has available hands-on models, microscopes, charts, and whiteboards for student use. This is a great area to bring your study group for Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Chemistry learning sessions.
Want to be a tutor?
To be a tutor, students must successfully complete the course to be tutored with a grade of “B” or above, and their instructor’s recommendation.
