Elizabeth Daley

Associate in Arts

Elizabeth Daley was born in Pullman, Washington and moved with her family to the Yakima Valley when she was very young. Growing up Daley was home-schooled by her mother for several years before attending West Valley School District. As a junior, she decided she wanted to pursue a new challenge, and enrolled in YVC’s Running Start Program. Now in her second year, Daley has enjoyed the experience tremendously. “I love YVC’s Running Start Program,” stated Daley. “I wanted to attend YVC to participate in the diversity on campus and feel that I have been able to grow as a result of the college’s environment. I like how the program has taught me to think like a college student,” she continued.

In addition to her studies, Daley is active on campus and in her community. At the college she serves as the Associated Students of Yakima Valley Community College’s Public Relations Director. Included in her duties are producing the monthly Yak publication. In addition, she volunteers in YVC’s Writing Center. Off campus she volunteer coaches a youth soccer team with Yakima Youth Soccer Association. In addition, she also volunteers weekly in an American Sign Language (ASL) class at Whitney Elementary School.

Daley will graduate with an associate in arts degree. She plans to then continue her studies at a four-year university and pursue a degree in secondary education with the goal of teaching at the college level.
