Required Statements
Non-discrimination statement
Federal law requires Yakima Valley College to include a non-discrimination statement in all publications (including brochures, pamphlets, posters and flyers) distributed to students or the general public. The exceptions include instructional materials and documents used in the classroom. Each YVC employee is responsible for ensuring the requirements in this guide are met in both print and digital publications.
Use the appropriate statement according to the guidance below. For questions about which statement to use, email the Community Relations department.
Procedure
- Use the approved non-discrimination statement on all promotional documents that contain the Yakima Valley College logo. The non-discrimination statement must be no smaller than 7pt font and in a YVC-approved font (not all caps).
- The non-discrimination statement should be in a visible location at the bottom of the document.
- Posters for musical/theatrical performances are not required to include the non-discrimination statement. However, if accommodations are available to the audience, it is helpful to print contact information for these services.
- Posters providing campus information for services (tutoring/advising/rooms/times etc.) do not require a non-discrimination statement.
