YVC’s Running Start Program offers Information Nights for local high school students

Yakima Valley College’s Running Start Program will host information nights for current high school sophomores and juniors and their parents to learn how the program can enable them to earn up to two years of college credit tuition-free. The meetings will take place both online and in local high schools. Please see the table below for a list of upcoming information sessions.

Fall Quarter Entrance 2022

  • February 7, 2022, 6:00 p.m. – Naches High School, Online
  • February 9, 2022, 6:00 p.m. – Granger High School, In-Person – Location TBA
  • February 15, 2022, 6:00 p.m. – Mabton High School, Online
  • February 16, 2022, 5:30 p.m. – Davis High School Online – Link TBA
  • February 17, 2022, 6:00 p.m.- Eisenhower High School, Online
  • February 23, 2022, 6:00 p.m. – East Valley High School, Online
  • February 24, 2022, 6:00 p.m. – West Valley High School, Auditorium
  • March 7, 2022, 6:30 p.m. – Wapato High School, Media Center
  • March 8, 2022, 6:00 p.m. – Selah High School, Auxiliary Gymnasium
  • March 15, 2022, 6:00 p.m. – Yakima Valley College, Online
  • March 23, 2022, 6:00 p.m. – Yakima Valley College, Online

* If your high school is not hosting an information night, please feel free to attend any other convenient session. Contact your high school’s counseling office or visit yvcc.edu/RunningStart for information about the Running Start Program at YVC.

The Running Start Program offers eligible high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to enroll in college classes at YVC’s Yakima and Grandview campuses and receive both high school and college credit. Public, private and homeschool students are eligible for Running Start.

Running Start students can:

  • Get a head start on college by earning up to two years of college credit
  • Attend classes full- or part-time
  • Select and sample diverse classes
  • Transition to college life
