YVC presents TEACH, TOUR & TASTE EVENT 2019

Winery Open House on Friday, March 8, 2019 • 5:00 to 8:00pm

Grandview, WA – Yakima Valley College’s Teaching Winery, Yakima Valley Vintners, and students in the Wine Marketing class, invite the community to an exciting open house at the only teaching winery in the region. The free event is an opportunity to learn about wines produced in the Yakima Valley, tour the winery, and enjoy tastings of student-crafted, award-winning wines. “Having the opportunity to open the community’s eyes to what we are doing behind closed doors in worth more than I can explain. We are passionate about this winery and this program, and we want to share what we’re learning with everyone,” states wine marketing student Samantha Mallery.

TEACH, TOUR & TASTE is Friday, March 8, 2019 between 5:00-8:00pm. Doors open at 5:00 pm. Educational tours and tastings until 8:00pm. Yakima Valley Vintners is located on the Grandview Campus of Yakima Valley College.

YVC’s Teaching Winery contributes to the growing wine industry in the Yakima Valley and Washington State. Chase Sinclair, a student recently enrolled in several introductory wine courses, captured it well saying “I have visited a lot of tasting rooms in the valley, but none that allow you this type of access to their winemaking facilities. It’s one thing to drink wine or talk about how it’s made, but quite another to go behind the doors and get to talk to the student winemakers.”

Yakima Valley Vintners’ wines will be available for purchase by the glass, bottle or the case.
