Governor Jay Inslee appoints Castulo Arteaga to Yakima Valley College Board of Trustees

Yakima, WA – Yakima Valley College is pleased to announce Castulo “Cus” Arteaga has been appointed to YVC’s Board of Trustees. Arteaga serves as the Grandview city administrator, a position he has held since 2010.

Previously, Arteaga served the City of Grandview as public works director for nine years, assistant public works director for five years and as a public works maintenance technician for 15 years. In his long history with the City of Grandview, Arteaga has been instrumental in the development and ongoing expansion of YVC’s Grandview Campus. In addition, Arteaga has served on many community boards including Astria Sunnyside Hospital, Yakima County Development Association and Lower Valley Credit Union.

“I have lived in Grandview for over 60 years and have also worked for the City of Grandview for approximately 48 of those years,” stated Arteaga. “I have been part of the improvements and/or expansions of the Grandview Campus throughout the years. I have also had the opportunity to witness how YVC can improve one’s ability to live the American Dream by securing a good education. I want to continue to help YVC by advocating and supporting programs that will continue to improve the quality of life for those who attend Yakima Valley College.”

Arteaga replaces Robert Ozuna whose term ended on Sept. 30, 2020. His term of office is effective Oct. 13, 2020 and ends on Sept. 30, 2023.
