​​​College Alternative Program

The College Alternative Program (CAP) is a partnership between Yakima Valley College (YVC) and the Ellensburg School District. The program allows students between the ages of 16-20 who have not earned a GED or high school diploma to work toward earning their GED.

How to sign up?

Enrollment is ongoing throughout the academic school year.
Follow these steps to get started:

  • Pick up a registration packet
  • Once the packet is complete and approved you will receive an appointment time to take an entrance assessment.
  • Individual can begin classes following the assessment.

Schedule

Updated each quarter – dates, times, and locations of the entrance assessment and class offerings are available by contacting the site you plan to attend. ​

CAP is exclusively offered in Ellensburg.

The College Alternative Program is free to eligible students.
