The arrow continues to point upward for enrollment at Yakima Valley College, with more students attending classes in Spring Quarter 2025 than the same quarter last year.

Total enrollment this quarter stands at 4,609 students (with a full-time equivalent enrollment of 3,510), including YVC’s Yakima and Grandview campuses, Ellensburg and Toppenish learning centers and online students. That full-time equivalent enrollment for the quarter represents an 8.3% increase compared to last year.

Full-time equivalent enrollment in YVC’s degree- and certificate-granting programs increased by 9.1% in Spring 2025 from the previous year, while enrollment in College and Career Readiness programs (which includes adult basic education, high school completion and English Language Learning classes) increased by 4%. Enrollment numbers are as of the 10th day of classes and may change until the end of the term.

“We’re pleased to see a continuation of this academic year’s enrollment growth,” said Interim President Teresa Rich. “This is a reflection of the high-quality education that students know they’ll receive at YVC and faculty and staff who care about each student’s success.”

Spring quarter enrollment gains were also particularly strong on the college’s Grandview Campus, with 639 total students taking classes on the campus, an increase of 23.4% from the previous year.

Students wanting to begin their education journey during Summer Quarter 2025 can get started now. The application deadline for degree/certificate-seeking students who would like to enroll in Summer Quarter classes is May 22. Both students seeking a degree/certificate and non-degree/certificate-seeking students can register for Summer Quarter classes starting May 14 through the first day of classes on June 23.

The Fall Quarter 2025 application deadline for degree/certificate-seeking students is August 12. Classes for the quarter begin September 22.
