Join YVC’s Climbing Club for their upcoming Climbing Day at High-Steppe Climbing Center in Yakima this Friday, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
YVC’s Climbing Club works with the local climbing gym and recently negotiated the first YVC Climbing Day. Any YVC student will get a discounted day pass with free rental gear all day. Students can go to the gym, purchase a day pass and rent gear (for free) to try out climbing for the day.
“Typically, that would cost students $24, so an $18 pass is a pretty great discount,” says Katharine Solada, club advisor and geology instructor. “This is just a fun activity for students if they want to experience a new activity or de-stress before finals. We hope to hold a day like this every term.”
