As a result of the governor’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order issued on Monday, March 23, 2020, the campuses and learning centers of Yakima Valley College remain closed to the public through the end of Fall quarter, except for select Workforce Education programs that require limited in-classroom instructional activities.

Bookstore
The YVC Bookstore is closed. If the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order is extended, we will adjust our operating hours. We will continue to accept textbook orders online, though you may experience longer shipping times than usual. Campus Re-Entry
As the governor pursues a phased approach to re-opening Washington’s economy, community colleges are now allowed to conduct some very limited in-person instructional activities. These activities are only possible for a small group of Workforce Education (WED) programs.
Yakima Valley College campuses are closed to the public through Fall Quarter 2020.

Placement Testing: Yakima & Grandview
Physical offices are closed to the public and students. Placement testing is available for you at home. Students who have applied to YVC paid the admissions fee, and have received their acceptance letter with YVC Student ID number are eligible for this option. A student applying for Running Start can also test at home.
Recent high school graduates (classes of 2020 & 2019) should first email their transcripts and test scores to admission@yvcc.edu for processing. More information on the placement options. To take the assessment at home, please email testingservices@yvcc.edu your name and YVC ID number. Testing Services staff will get back to you with instructions on how to take the assessments. You will need reliable internet access. If you need to take the math placement test, please make sure you have the correct technology by checking the requirements here.
There is no charge for the English assessment and a $20 fee for the math exam.
Running Start applicants should email their applications and other paperwork to runningstart@yvcc.edu. An advisor will get back to you with testing information.
