The Washington State Wine Competition is also a fundraiser for the next generation of Washington winemakers. Proceeds from the judging will fund scholarships for Vineyard & Winery Technology students at Yakima Valley College. In addition, YVC students were invited to participate as silent judges to observe the judging process, and they also helped with the back of the house preparation for the competition. This was a unique opportunity for students to see firsthand how professional judging competitions are operated.
