YVC Playmasters & The Warehouse Theatre Company Host Auditions for the Summer Production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Yakima, WA – This summer Yakima Valley College Playmasters will feature the first-ever co-production between YVC and the Warehouse Theatre Company. Auditions for William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019, and Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at 6:00 pm in YVC’s Kendall Hall, Building 12, Auditorium. The production includes multiple parts for 16 people ages 13 and above. Students and community members are encouraged to audition. No prior acting experience is necessary. Children ages 8-13 are invited to audition for the parts of the “Fairies” on Monday, July 1, 2019, and Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 6:00 pm in YVC’s Kendall Hall, Building 12, Auditorium.

On a Midsummer’s night, four young lovers find themselves wrapped in the dream-like arms of an enchanted forest where sprites lurk and fairies rule. While a feuding Fairy King and Queen are at war, their paths are crossed by Bottom, Quince and their friends presenting a play within a play. Chief mischief-maker Puck is on-hand to ensure that the course of true love is anything but smooth, and games of fantasy, love and dreams ensue in Shakespeare’s most beguiling comedy.

The Warehouse Theatre Company works to engage, enrich and encourage our community through shared experiences in theatre arts. As Yakima’s community theatre, WTC has enjoyed a well-earned reputation for professional-quality musicals, comedies, and dramatic performances for over six decades.

The production will run August 15-24 2019 at 7:30 pm and August 17, 2019, and August 24, 2019, at 2:00 pm. For more information, contact Ray Pritchard at rpritchard@yvcc.edu  / 509.834.4554.
