Properties. All fruit is sold thru commissioned marketers.
Specific Objectives of the Training
By the time the trainee leaves the placement he/she will have developed his/her intrinsic understanding of all aspects of winter activities carried out in the fruit production profession.
Skills to be Acquired by the Trainee:
Trainees will enhance and/or acquire the following skills:
- Acquire special skills in training and management high density cherry trees (22+varieties, several modern training systems including UFO)
- Learn pruning strategies for pear, apple and grape orchards
- Become familiar with apple storage facilities
- Assist in equipment maintenance (incl. labor mgt. software)
