The purpose of this job description is to provide a guide by which you and the management at Milbrandt Family Vineyards may measure your progress and ability to meet our commitments.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Tasting Room Manager will be responsible for providing organized leadership and support to the Tasting Room Manager to implement sales strategies and help manage day-to-day tasting operations in Milbrandt Vineyards and Ryan Patrick Wines at a specific location. This position requires working closely with the Tasting Room Managers to ensure quality support and excellent customer service and work with and direct Sales Associates to drive sales and wine club sign ups.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist and mentor staff to meet tasting room sales and wine club goals.
- Provide leadership and direction while on the tasting room floor and to the team.
- Must maintain a polished and professional appearance.
- Maintain accurate daily and weekly inventory counts.
- Execute daily sales reports.
- Count, track and report inventory on a daily and weekly basis.
- Train new staff members on company policy and brand standards.
- Lead the sales team in exceptional guest experiences and customer service.
- Manage local wine club communications and activities.
- Plan and execute special events.
- Obtain content for social media on a daily basis.
- Assists marketing department with geo marketing.
- Telemarketing and Concierge campaign calls.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of guest information.
- Greets all visitors to the tasting room, pours wines for flights, discusses wine club memberships and responds to guest questions as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of guest information.
- While responsible for wine club sign-ups when on the floor, this role also helps motivate the full wine ambassador team to meet wine club sign-up goals.
- Run End Of Day sales reports.
- Cover vacation or sick leave for the Tasting Room Manager.
- Assist manager and regional manager with planning local events.
- Communicate to Tasting Room Manager on a regular basis on any performance, attendance, unprofessional behavior from employees. This includes proactive seeking guidance and problem-solving to resolve issues.
- Maintain weekly/monthly reporting.
- Establish a good working relationship with other team members.
- Foster positive communications and relationships with internal and external customers.
- Keep up to date on industry trends and developments.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in meetings as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three (3) + years of leadership experience in sales and customer service.
- One (1)+ years’ experience in telemarketing desired.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a supervisory role in the wine industry is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of wines and wine production.
- Proven track record to lead and motivate a team of part-time staff members and seasonal staff.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and active listening skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to shift working between teams and autonomously with the ability to multitask, manage time, and stay organized in either environment.
- Ability to think critically to discover and solve complex problems and document progress/resolutions.
- Familiarity with Apple products (preferred).
- Maintain a positive attitude and have the ability to handle change with professionalism, authenticity, and professionalism.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality such as proprietary and personal information.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Maintain valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and maintain required auto insurance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Repeated lifting up to 20 lbs. for moving wine and related items.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to shift between standing and walking with being able to work at computer or desk area for extended periods of time.
- Frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, reach with hands and arms, bend, squat, climb, push, stoop and crouch.
- Position requires ability to see items, talk, and hear on a consistent basis.
- Must be able to use a computer, laptop, smart phone, and other office related technology and products.
- Ability to travel to events, locations, and venues as requested or required.
