AgWeatherNet (AWN) is hiring up to 2 PAID INTERNS FOR 2023. The interns will work directly with field team members in the following tasks: maintaining weather station equipment; configuring and installing new stations, sensors, and related equipment; ensuring sensors are calibrated; implementing, improving,
interpreting data quality assurance algorithms; and user experience enhancements in web services. Additionally, the interns will work with researchers on data analysis projects that advance network performance and capabilities.
Candidates should be pursuing a degree in atmospheric sciences, environmental studies, engineering, agriculture, software engineering, data analytics, or a related discipline and be interested in working outdoors and collecting meteorological observations. Strong communication and teamwork skills are required to constructively engage with researchers and staff.
Schedule: 20-40 hours/week; Pay rate: $19/hour; overnight travel will be required
About AgWeatherNet: We maintain the state network of automated weather stations and an online platform (weather.wsu.edu) for dissemination of weather data and weather-related real-time decision support tools on behalf of the public of Washington State.
