 Windows Live Mail – A 5 GB inbox. Check your e-mail, send and receive messages, use the calendar and contacts.

 Spaces – Create a personal website, host blogs, and use personal sites to communicate with classmates.

 Messenger – Stay in touch with classmates and study groups using text messages.

Beginning September 21, 2007 all new and returning students must complete the NetID online activation process to receive a network login for the YVCC computer labs and create a password. Students that register before 8:00 pm will be able to activate their NetID on the next business day after registering. Students that register after 8:00 pm will be able to activate their NetID on the second business day after registering.

During activation:

• First time students are issued a new student email address as well as a temporary password to log in to Hotmail.
• Students returning from last year are shown their email address and the temporary password only applies if you have never logged into your Hotmail account.

So you don’t forget, be sure to print the page or write down the login information provided during NetID activation!

1. Enter your Student ID number
2. Verify your identity
3. Enter a password (to be used in the computer labs)
4. Confirm your password
5. Print the confirmation page or write down all login information

STUDENT EMAIL
Returning Students
Although you will complete the NetID activation process, your email address and password will remain the same.

1. Complete the NetID Activation
2. Go to www.hotmail.com and log in with your email address and the password you created when you activated your email account during the previous school year. (If you’ve never logged into your student email, use the temporary password issued during your NetID activation.)

New Students

1. Complete the NetID Activation
2. Print the confirmation page or write down all login information
3. Log in to hotmail.com to activate your e-mail and change your password. Instructions: [Word Format] [PDF]

COMPUTER LABS
All Students
For the YVCC computer labs, your username is your NetID (your SID), and your password is the one you select during the NetID online activation. Don’t forget to write down your password!
