Vocational Programs

The Family and Consumer Sciences Department program options are as follows. Transfer courses help in preparation for career opportunities in family and consumer sciences education, child development, early childhood education, special education, foods and nutrition, interior design, and clothing and textiles. Specific programs that involve training for employment include dietary manager, early childhood education, employment specialist, and developmental disabilities specialist programs.

The parent education program provides opportunities for parents and children to learn together in preschool settings and also provides courses to explore the role of parenting. Individual enrichment may be obtained through a variety of vocational family and consumer sciences courses.

As a result of participating in the Parent Education Cooperative Preschool Program, the parents/students will develop competence in parenting and family management skills.
