YVCC's Criminal Justice Program offers:

Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice students going for a 4-year degree, should get YVCC's Associate of Arts Degree with Criminal Justice courses being utilized to fulfill AA degree requirements.

The Criminal Justice program assists students in the development of occupationally specific abilities with emphasis on interpersonal skills, group dynamics, problem solving and critical thinking.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Career opportunities in this exciting field include:

 law enforcement officers  correction officers
 detention officers  private security officers

Graduates of the Criminal Justice Program have found employment with area law enforcement; city, county and state Department of Corrections; and private sector employers.

Students are cautioned that career opportunities in the criminal justice field might be limited by criminal convictions, physical requirements, medical history, drug or alcohol use, or other bona fide occupational qualifications determined by employers.
