About Grandview

Grandview campusLocated in the lower Yakima Valley, the Grandview Campus provides comprehensive educational services to time-bound and place-bound students within the southern portion of the YVCC service district. Students from Bickleton, Grandview, Granger, Mabton, Prosser, and Sunnyside take developmental, vocational, and college-transfer courses here. In 2002-03, we served 2,843 students at our campus, of whom 93 were high school students in our Running Start program and 1,125 were students in our ABE/ESL programs. Our outstanding faculty, our small classes, and our supportive staff ensure the academic, career, and personal success of our students.

We offer courses that support a combination of developmental, transfer, and vocational programs. For example, individuals may enroll in our English-As-A-Second-Language (ESL) classes to learn English. Others, wanting to earn a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, can take those classes and the GED test here. Both programs offer classes during the day and evening.

The Grandview Campus also offers courses that apply to various vocational certificates and the Associate of Applied Sciences degree on the Yakima campus. Students can also complete all requirements for the transferable Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees right at the Grandview Campus!

Recognizing the obstacles of time and location, we offer classes during the day, evening, or weekend to make our educational services accessible to working students. Moreover, students may take classes via different distance learning delivery systems, so they do not have to travel to Yakima to get courses we do not offer in Grandview. For example, we offer classes via interactive television (ITV), video tape, and over the Internet. No matter the time and location conflicts you face, our campus has a way to helping you continue your education!
