10: YVCC’s 2nd Annual Latin Music Celebration
The second annual event will feature the YVCC Salsa Band, directed by David Blink, performing with special guests from New York: Memo Acevedo, Allan Molnar, and Jim Seeley. This event will begin at 7:30pm and will be held at The Seasons Music Hall, 101 N. Naches Ave, Yakima. Admission is $15. Preconcert activities include:
- Salsa Dancing Group Lesson Lead by Rhonda Laughery. The Seasons Performance Hall • 6:30-7:30pm
- Wine Tasting led by Trent Ball YVCC Vineyard and Winery Technology Department Chair. 6:30-7:30pm at The Seasons Performance Hall. $10 fee to attend. Commemorative YVCC Latin Music Celebration wine glass.

15: 2007-2008 Diversity Series Challenging Diversity- Challenging Our Thinking
“Pico de Gallo”

What do illegal immigrants, politicians, ESL kindergarteners, school teachers, unwed mothers, bartenders, flight attendants, Dr. Phil, opinionated grandmothers, cable access talk show hosts and socialist taco vendors all have in common? They make up the face of 21st century Latinos in the United States in the new solo play Pico de Gallo. Estrada has been praised by critics around the country for his skillful onstage transformations. From one character to the next, he unravels a multitude of stories, songs and humorous contradictions in a celebration of the heartbeat of Latino culture. This event will begin at 7:00pm and will be held at The Seasons Music Hall, 101 N. Naches Ave, Yakima. The event is free and open to the public. 28, 29, 30, 31, & June 1: YVCC Playmasters present The Tempest
Yakima Valley Community College Playmasters, in collaboration with the Department of Instrumental and Choral Music, present William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Performances will be held May 29-May 31 at 7:30pm, and June 1 at 2:00pm at Kendall Auditoriums Outdoor Stage (weather permitting). 12: 79th Commencement Ceremony
YVCC’s celebrates its 79th Commencement Ceremony with keynote speaker Dr. Lloyd Butler, President of Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. The ceremony begins at 7:00pm at YVCC’s Parker Field. All are welcome to join YVCC in celebrating the graduating class of 2008.
