Things won’t always be as good for Yakima Valley’s women’s soccer team as they were Saturday, when both the sun and score smiled on the Yaks.

But at least on future afternoons, when the weather is raw and the outcome less desirable than YVCC’s 8-0 rout of Southwestern Oregon, Yakima Valley will still feel at home because it is at home. more...

Yakima Valley's Leach receives NWAACC scholar-athlete kudos

YAKIMA -- Unbeknownst to Andrea Leach, plus Yakima Valley Community College women's soccer coach Luiz Machado, the jersey number 2 she wore last season was all wrong.

It should have been No. 1.

Leach, a sophomore from Eisenhower, has won the Art Feiro Award as the top female scholar athlete in the entire NWAACC. more...
