YVCC signs Alaska point guard

Shelby Fulton, a 5-foot-5 point guard from Wasilla High School in Alaska, has signed a letter of intent with Yakima Valley Community College.

Yaks coach Cody Butler announced the signing Friday.

Fulton played three years on the varsity at Wasilla, located just northeast of Anchorage. She helped her team to a third-place state tournament finish. Wasilla has won its last 100 conference games, Butler said.

Yakima Valley went 26-6 last season, placing fourth in the NWAACC Tournament for its third straight top-six finish.
