College Roundup — Mohs scores two goals, leads Yaks

Rachel Mohs scored two goals and assisted on two others as Yakima Valley ran past Olympic College 5-1 on Wednesday in a Western Region soccer match at Chesterley Park.

Maria Alvarez added two goals for the second-place Yaks, who improved to 6-8-1 in regional play and 6-10-1 overall. Olympic fell to 1-14 and 1-14.

Andrea Leach had a goal and assist for YVCC, which led 2-0 at halftime.

Jessica Licea made three saves for the Yaks.

Yakima Valley will continue regional play Saturday at Tacoma and next Wednesday at Bellevue before concluding its regular season at home on Nov. 3 against division-leading Highline.
