Erika Hanson totaled 13 kills and Danielle Palacios had 35 assists as Yakima Valley won its first volleyball match this season, 3-1 over Spokane at Sherar Gym.

The 30-25, 20-30, 30-24, 30-26 victory improved the Yaks to 1-1 in Eastern Region play and 1-1 overall.

Mari Cornejo had 12 kills, Chelsea Delvo 10 and Nancy Donato eight for YVCC. Teagan Johnston added 22 digs.

YVCC visits Skagit Valley tonight and then travels to Edmonds on Friday.
