For a first match to launch the program, Yakima Valley Community College's women's soccer team couldn't have hoped for a better outcome.
Leticia Reiber booted in three goals and Mariana Martinez collected a goal and three assists as the Yaks dominated Wenatchee Valley 6-2 at Chesterley Park on Wednesday.
Reiber and Martinez both recorded a goal and assist in the first half to help YVCC jump out to a 3-1 lead.
Wenatchee Valley cut the margin to 3-2 early in the second half, but Erika Eichler knocked in her second goal of the match for the home team in the 59th minute.
Goalkeeper Elida Licea made four saves for YVCC, which plays at Columbia Basin next Monday.

Wildcats blank Albertson 2-0
CALDWELL, Idaho — With a goal in each half and three saves by goalkeeper Amber Easterbrook, Central Washington University's women's soccer team blanked Albertson 2-0 on Wednesday.
Central's Hilary Davidson punched in a goal in the 28th minute for a 1-0 lead, and teammate Lisa Overbo notched the insurance tally in the 80th minute.
The Wildcats (3-2) return home to face Eastern Oregon on Saturday at noon.

Terri Jackson had a hole-in-one Saturday at the Yakima Country Club when she aced the 144-yard 15th hole using a 7-wood.
