WENATCHEE — Casey Riedner and Jess Garcia hit back-to-back solo home runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Sunday to pull out a 5-4 Yakima Valley fastpitch win against Chemeketa and a 4-0 record at the Wenatchee Crossover Tournament.
Garcia also went 2-for-2 with two RBI in the first contest of the day, a 6-1 victory against Southwest Oregon. Eryn Beal added two hits herself in that game along with an RBI and a run for YVCC.
Losing six one-run ball games this season, the Yaks (11-21 overall) rallied from two runs down in the bottom of the seventh against Chemeketa. Riedner started the inning and knocked the first pitch for a home run; Garcia followed with a long ball on her third pitch.
