YVCC Committees

Student Representatives are needed to serve on the various YVCC committees listed below. Please contact the ASYVCC President if you are interested in volunteering to serve on any of these committees.

1. Services and Activities Fee Budget Committees
   See Financial Code.
   
   
2. Financial Aid Advisory and Scholarship Committee (one student appointed in October)
   Meets as needed to review scholarship applications and make recommendations, and review policies of the Financial Aid Office and make recommendations.
   
   
3. Safety Committee (two students appointed in October)
   Meets no less than quarterly to review matters involving physical safety of the campus.
   
   
4. Student Hearing (Appeals) Committee (three students appointed in October)
   Meets as needed to hear student appeals concerning code of conduct.
   
   
5. Tenure Committee (one student appointed per faculty member as recommended by that faculty member)
   Meets at least once monthly. Note: new faculty are on probation for three (3) years. During this time performance is reviewed and evaluated.
   
   
6. Food Service Committee (two students appointed in October)
   Meets monthly to work with Dining Services to provide the best service we can to all staff and students. The Committee offers suggestions, ideas, criticism, and praise about Campus food service.
   
   
7. Parking Appeals Committee (three students appointed in October)
   Meets in the MLK room of the HUB on Wednesdays at 1:30 pm. to hear parking ticket appeals, make recommendations on parking issues, and be a judicial board for the SRC.
