Counseling Center
  The Counseling Center offers various resources designed to assist students to achieve academic success, acquire skills for employment, improve personal well-being and develop effective skills for interacting in a diverse environment. Counseling services are available to registered YVCC student at no cost. Services available through the Counseling Center include:
  • short-term personal counseling
  • career counseling
  • transfer information
  • decision making regarding career and life goals
  • fear of tests and new situations
  • academic counseling
  • college survival skills
  • student advocacy

Walk-in to see someone on a first-come-first serve basis Monday through Friday, please call for availability of counselors. Please contact the counseling center for summer hours.

Confidentiality

Counseling discussions are confidential. If you want your counselor to provide information to others, you can make a written request. There are three situations that are not confidential:

  • child or elder abuse
  • threat of harm to self or someone else
  • subpoena by a court of law

Any release of information would first be discussed with you.
