COMPASS PLACEMENT TESTING
SCHEDULE AND INFORMATION
YAKIMA CAMPUS
|
Your success as a student is important to Yakima Valley Community College. To help you be successful, YVCC uses a placement test called COMPASS to ensure appropriate placement in English and math courses. It is NOT a pass/fail exam. Placement scores are valid for two years from test date.
Who takes the placement test?
All students entering YVCC for the first time must take a placement test. However, the placement test is waived for: |
- Former YVCC students who have successfully completed college level Math and English Composition with a grade of 2.0 (C) or better.
- Transfer students who submit official transcripts showing successful completion of college level Math and English Composition with a grade of 2.0 (C) or better.
|
New students should take the placement test as soon as possible after receiving their YVCC admissions letter. Beginning March 21, 2008 Compass testing will be offered on a drop-in basis at the Deccio computer lab, room C208. Students that come in for testing after 4:30P need to pay the cashier ahead of time and save the receipt to present to the test proctor.
C208 Computer Lab Testing Hours: Summer June 16- September 11
Monday through Thursday, 8:30A to 4:00P
Computer Labs are closed on all holidays
and breaks unless otherwise noted.
