Selective Admissions Programs
Certain professional/technical programs in the Workforce Education Division have additional admission requirements. Admission to Yakima Valley College (YVC) does not guarantee entrance to the following programs. Students must meet the application deadlines and entrance requirements prescribed by the program.

Contact the department directly for an application packet.
Submit all required paperwork by the program deadlines.
Complete all required prerequisites.
YVC offers a unique approach for students to obtain a variety of health profession certificates or degrees in Medical Assisting, Medical Billing & Coding, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy, Surgical Technology, and Medical Interpreter.
The Bachelor of Applied Science programs are designed for students who have earned an associate's degree and need a pathway to a bachelor's degree.
Dental Assisting is a collaborative program with the Yakima Valley Technical Skills Center.
Dental Hygiene promotes student development as caring, clinically proficient, and ethical entry-level dental hygienists.
The YVC Nursing Program offers an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) that is six quarters in length with experiences in gerontological nursing, pediatric nursing, medical-surgical nursing, obstetrical nursing, critical care nursing, oncology nursing, mental health nursing, and emergency nursing.
The YVC Radiologic Sciences Program strives to graduate individuals who are qualified in the use of ionizing radiation for the purpose of diagnostic imaging.
The Veterinary Technology Program is a two-year course of study leading to an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology.
