Physical Therapist Assistant
Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), like physical therapists, can make a positive difference in the quality of people's lives.
YVCC-WCC Cohort Partnership
A physical therapist assistant works under the guidance and supervision of a physical therapist. A PTA helps the physical therapist provide treatments, which may include training patients in exercises and activities of daily living, giving hands-on treatments, using special equipment and reporting patient progress to the physical therapist.
Yakima Valley Community College and
Whatcom Community College has partnered to offer the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. The PTA Program allows students to complete the prerequisites at YVCC and then apply to WCC for admission into the PTA Program.
Whatcom's Physical Therapist Assistant Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education for the American Physical Therapy Association.
