The 2 day WSET Level 2 Course offers a strong foundation in the world of wine and spirits and covers all major grape varieties and wine styles, key world wine regions, label terminology and professional wine tasting technique.
Students will build a comprehensive understanding of wine through outside reading, lectures and discussions, and evaluation of over 40 wines using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting.
Who should attend: This course is the ideal starting point for professionals or enthusiasts who want to take their knowledge to the next level. Although there is no prerequisite for this course, many of our students find it useful to begin their studies with the Introduction to Wine Series.

WSET Level 3 Advanced Wine & Spirits Course
$1275 tuition + $15 shipping fee (payment plans available)
Saturday/Sunday, May 16/17, June 13/14 and 27, 2015, 9:00am-6:00pm
Certification Exam: Sunday, June 28, 11:00am
The WSET Level 3 Advanced Course offers a challenging and in-depth examination of the world of wine including all major wine regions, grape varieties, wine styles, viticulture, winemaking, food and wine pairing, labeling laws and terminology, and professional wine tasting technique.
The course includes approximately 40 hours of classroom instruction including lecture, discussion and tasting of approximately 90 wines using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting. In order to be successful in this course, students should also budget time outside of class for reading, studying, tasting and completion of homework assignments.
Course tuition includes all tasting fees, course textbook, study guide, exam fees and course certificate.
Who should attend:
This advanced level course is appropriate for students with a strong foundation in wine knowledge and tasting technique. The WSET Level 2 Intermediate Course
is a recommended prerequisite.
About the exam: The certification exam at the end of the course includes blind evaluation of 2 wines as well as 50 multiple choice questions and 5 short-answer/essay questions. Students who successfully complete this exam are awarded the WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wine and Spirits.
About the instructors: Mimi Martin, director of The Wine & Spirit Archive, oversees this course and teaches many of the sessions. Other wine professionals and experienced wine educators participate in course instruction, bringing a variety of perspectives and voices to the course.
