What is Ed2go?


Ed2go offers online, noncredit courses on computer subjects, personal and professional enrichment classes, and more.


Are Ed2go classes YVCC classes?


Ed2go is associated with YVCC, but the classes are offered by a separate, online-only company. The instructors are from across the United States and are chosen for their ability to teach online. The YVCC Registration Office does not have information on course offerings through Ed2go.

Can I pay for Ed2go classes at YVCC?


No, the YVCC Registration Office does not have payment information on Ed2go classes. Those classes can only be paid for online at the Ed2go website.

Who would benefit from Ed2go classes?


Typical learners are adults with specific needs and a unique learning style who are not looking for the traditional academic setting but would rather learn online. They are students who want the freedom to access their classes twenty-four hours a day, seven-days a week.

When do the courses start?


The courses start every month. The specific dates are listed in each class description.

What are the requirements?


You must have computer access, Internet access, and Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. Some courses may have additional software or hardware requirements. The academic requirements are listed along with the description of each course when you click on the course name. You will also find information on the instructor, a copy of the syllabus, and reviews from other students.

How much time will it take?


Plan to spend 24 hours per course. You will have two lessons per week for six weeks. Set aside one to two hours per lesson.

What classes are offered?


At the ed2go website (www.ed2go.com/yvcc) click on Courses at the top of the screen, then choose your subject. Use the Search for Courses box on the right side of the screen to type in the course you're interested in.

Are there online orientations?


You are required to complete a course orientation prior to class, so don't delay. Orientations are closed the Monday before the course begins.

How do I make payment?


The cost of the course is listed next to the course in the Courses section. When you click Enroll Now, you will begin the process of online payment with a credit or debit card. Ed2go does not accept checks or purchase orders, but your employer may pay for your class with a credit card. The payment deadline is one week before the starting date of the class. YVCC does not accept payment for Ed2go classes. You must pay online through the Ed2go website.

What is the refund policy?


Any time the class is cancelled by the college, you may receive a 100% refund. You will not receive a refund if you don't appear for class, if you try to withdraw after classes have started, or if you withdraw less than five business days before the first meeting.

What if I need help?


If you have questions, go to the Ed2go Online Instruction Center at www.ed2go.com/yvcc and choose Help. On the Help page you can find information on selecting, enrolling in,and participating in a course andon technical issues as well as forgotten passwords or user names. You may request copies of quiz results, get an extension, or email a representative for more assistance.

Tips for success?


Print all your lesson materials for future use or for reference material. Print an online completion letter after you satisfactorily complete the final exam and give a copy to your supervisor or human resources department for your professional development records.
