Programs designed to assist adults in acquiring the basic skills necessary to be successful in today's society. 

The primary emphasis of YVC's Basic Skills Programs are to improve English language skills, computer technology skills, and basic reading, writing, and math.

These programs help prepare students for secondary education and job training. Classes may be individualized, computer assisted, or offered in small groups. 

Students can:

  • Learn English if they are not native English speakers.
  • Earn a high school diploma.
  • Prepare to take a high school equivalency exam.
  • Upgrade academic skills to succeed in college programs.
  • Gain skills needed to find employment.
