 COUNSELING AND ADVISING CENTER 

 

Open: M-F 9:00am-3:00pm, ***except during breaks and summer***

 

(Winter Break Hours: 10AM-2PM, M-F. CLOSED the week of Christmas and New Year's eve)

The Counseling Center offers various resources designed to assist students to achieve academic success, acquire skills for employment, improve personal well-being and develop effective skills for interacting in a diverse environment. Counseling services are available for registered YVCC students at no cost. Services available through the Counseling Center include:

short-term personal counseling

- college survival skills

ed​ucational plan

- student advocacy

 

- transfer information​

 

- decision making regarding career and life goals

- academic counseling

- strategies for dealing with fear of tests and new situations

 
For Appointments call (509) 574-4956 or come to the Counseling and Advising Center located in Deccio. On the Grandview Campus, call (509) 882-7000.

Walk-in to see someone on a first-come-first serve basis Monday through Friday. Please contact the counseling center for summer hours. There are reduced services during breaks.

Confidentiality

Counseling discussions are confidential.  If you want your counselor to provide information to others, you can make a written request.  There are three situations that are not confidential:

     - child or elder abuse

     - threat of harm to self or someone else

     - subpoena by a court of law

Any release of information would first be discussed with you.
