ADVISING
The purpose of advising is to assist students in making appropriate choices that will help them reach their academic and career goals. Advising is the shared responsibility of the student and the academic advisor.
Students are assigned a faculty advisor based on the area of interest indicated on the admissions application. Students should meet with their advisor each quarter to develop a plan for their education and to ensure that they are on the right track for graduation.
When to seek advising:
• To select courses before registering for the next quarter
• If you are considering adding or dropping classes
• To apply for graduation
• To discuss academic difficulties
• To discuss transfer requirements
Who is my assigned advisor? See the
Advisor by Major page which provides a list of educational program interests, the advisor assigned to that area and their contact information.
