Associate in Applied Science degrees
The technical degrees granted by YVCC are Associate in Applied Sciences degrees (A.A.S.).
The A.A.S. degree is offered in the following areas:
Agriculture, Allied Health, Automotive Service Technology, Business Technology, Chemical Dependency Studies, Criminal Justice, Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Early Childhood Education, Engineering, Fire Science, Information Technology, Medical Assisting, Medical Billing and Coding, Nursing, Pharmacy Technician, Radio Broadcasting/Production, Radiologic Sciences, Surgical Technology, Truck Driving, TV/Video Production, Veterinary Technology and Viticulture/Enology.
Certificate of Achievement
YVCC also offers certificate programs in technical fields. The certificate programs offered at YVCC include a wide range of subjects and require a varying length of time for completion. Certificates of Achievement will be issued upon successful completion of the prescribed certificate program with a 2.0 Grade Point Average in the courses required for that certificate. A Certificate program is offered in Latin American Studies. All other Certificates are offered in technical/professional areas. Perry Tech Coop Degrees
The combined degree program provides students the opportunity to obtain specialized training at Perry Technical Institute together with specific YVCC coursework that will better prepare students for their jobs and provide them with advancement opportunities.
Students may complete their YVCC coursework before, during, or after their Perry training. Students complete 27 core YVCC credits.
On completion of both Perry training and YVCC classes, students will receive an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in:
Electrical Technology
Instrumentation and Industrial Electronics
Machine Technology
Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heating Technology

Transfer degrees
Associate in Arts degrees
The Associate in Arts degree (A.A.) is designed primarily for the general university transfer student. The A.A. is equivalent to the first two years of a four-year Baccalaureate degree. It consists of coursework in communications, social science, humanities, natural science and quantitative skills comparable to the general education requirements of a four-year university or college. The degree either transfers as a whole, or courses are transferred on a course-by-course basis depending on the transfer policy at the destination institution. Departments at YVCC offer courses preparing students for upper-division work in the following fields:

Students who earn the Associate in Arts degree will be able to transfer to Washington colleges and universities that honor the Direct Transfer Agreement with junior standing, having met lower division general education requirements. Check destination institution for specific transfer requirements.
