Program Description

Yakima Valley Community College links with many local employers who have specific hiring needs. Customized Job Skills Trainings are designed to meet those needs.

The Customized Job Skills Training is designed to:

• Provide income-eligible (TANF) clients with job training needed to build a better life.

• Provide education, experience, and support needed to gain employment and get ahead on the job.

• Help qualified families become self-sufficient.

Available Trainings

Truck Driving (CDL) - Open to everyone.

Forklift Training - For TANF students/clients only.

I-BEST

WorkFirst students may also be eligible for YVCC's I-BEST Trainings, which pair a professional/technical program with Adult Basic Education (ABE); including reading, writing and math skills. The I-BEST program provides educational access and support for students to progress further and faster along career pathways.
