Generally, financial aid is awarded to all students at YVCC on the assumption that the student will enroll in 12 or more credits per quarter. This is full-time status for financial aid and shows the student the maximum grant eligibility they may receive. If the student will not be attending on a full-time basis, the student needs to inform the financial aid office before aid disburses for the quarter so aid can be 1) authorized to disburse at fewer credits and 2) adjusted to the correct amount of aid based on the enrollment level. The Enrollment Revision Form is available from the Forms page. (See the link to Forms in the left column of this page.)
Satisfactory Academic Progress
To be eligible for financial aid, you must meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements for financial aid. In general, financial aid recipients are expected to successfully complete all credits for which they enrolled as of the first day of the quarter (whether or not you are funded) and all funded credits with a minimum of a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) and have a 2.0 GPA when they have six quarters of enrollment. You must also meet the YVCC’s college-wide Academic Progress Standards, achieve at least a 67% pace of progression and complete your academic program within 150% of the standard length of the program.
