The Workforce Education Division currently has 16 professional and technical programs at YVCC. Combined these programs offer 42 Associate of Applied Science Degrees, 6 transfer degree options, and 67 certificates.
Mission Statement
To provide student-centered educational opportunities that empower students to develop and enhance literacy, knowledge , skill, and attitudes for life-long learning for the workplace of today and tomorrow.
Our Goals
Goals of the Division are to provide educational programs and services that increase the number of citizens prepared to work in high demand, high wage occupations, and to serve the needs of business and industry for well-prepared workers. These are accomplished through a wide variety of resources and program offerings.
Programs include classroom instruction and hands-on experience in campus labs as well as work-based learning opportunities. There are opportunities for students to work on short-term skills development or certificates and degrees, depending on their short- and long-term goals.
Futures Begin by Opening Doors
YVCC has an open-door policy to all adults over age 18. Whether completing an Associate Degree in a career field, or transferring to a university, the step toward admission is completing the YVCC application form.
Some programs, particularly in health and veterinary technology occupations, have limited class capacities and special admission requirements. Applications admission to those programs are separate from the general YVCC application process.
