TEST INFORMATION
The GED test consists of 5 tests:  Writing, 2 hrs (50 questions & essay); Reading, 1 hr & 5 min (40 questions); Mathematics, 1 hr & 30 min (50 questions); Science, 1 hr & 20 min (50 questions); Social Studies, 1 hr & 10 min (50 questions).  Only one test can be taken on Tuesdays and Thursdays; two tests can be taken on Saturdays.

TEST RESULTS
Please do not call the testing center for your test results.  Test results are mailed home within one week of testing with exception of the writing test;  the writing test results will take 2-4 weeks to receive.  Upon passing all the tests, your official transcript and certificate will be mailed to you within 2-4 weeks.  Please be sure that we have your correct mailing address on file.

SCORING
The results on each test are given as "standard scores" ranging from 200 to 800.  The minimum passing score is 410.  A test score of 400 or lower is failing and will need to be retaken.  You need an average score of 450 on each of the five tests to earn your GED.  This means a total score of 2250 or higher and no score below 410.

RETESTING
The retesting fee is $30 per test.  If you fail a test, it may be retaken a maximum of two more times within the same calendar year.  If you fail the test 3 times within a calendar year, you must wait until the following January in order to retest again.
