MISSION
The mission of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) is to support the continuation of Yakima Valley Community College as a student‐centered institution dedicated to teaching and learning. PRIMARY PURPOSE
The primary purpose of OIE is to coordinate the collection, analysis, and dissemination of timely and accurate information in support of the college’s mission and goals.
The OIE supports institution-wide strategic planning, academic program review, campus survey efforts, annual performance reports, grant development, and accreditation efforts.
To fulfill this purpose, we:
Employ secure data collection and storage procedures that ensure confidentiality and protect the privacy of research subjects;
Adhere to current best practice standards in all activities;
Use dynamic and innovative methodologies to explore new ways of collecting, developing and presenting information;
Ensure, whenever possible, that policy makers draw conclusions from information with the proper context; Foster open and informed communication about data;
Advance the quality and efficiency of information flow within the institution; Adhere to and support the YVCC Code of Ethics and the Code of Ethics developed by the Association of Institutional Researchers.
